Building a culture of hospitality for people seeking sanctuary

We are a new, emerging group made up of people who feel passionately that Rugby and the UK more widely should be a welcoming and safe environment for all new communities, and proud to offer sanctuary to people fleeing violence and persecution.

We recognise that the culture and experience newcomers bring with them bring enrich our society.  Through community groups, local charities, businesses, and public service providers, we aim to ensure that their voices are heard and that their skills and talents are given an opportunity to flourish for their good and for the good of our society as a whole.

Rugby Town of Sanctuary is not affiliated to any political or religious organisation, but is linked to the wider City of Sanctuary movement which was established in the UK in 2005 with a vision for making our communities places that have a culture of welcome and inclusion, especially for those seeking sanctuary.
